Deadly Heatwave Sweeps Western Europe, Issues Red Alert Amid Deadly Heatwave
There are currently heat waves in Western Europe during early summer; France has witnessed the warmest temperatures in the country since 1947, following the thermometer registering 30°C nationally. The temperature in Paris has surpassed 40°C, causing a number of tourist attractions, including the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre, to shut down prematurely as more than half of France has been placed on heat red alert. There have been deaths caused by drowning and a lack of electricity supply in most parts of the region.
